Nurse Registration
How to Apply for Registration
Australia is divided into six states and two territories which are governed by a local state/territory government as well as the national Commonwealth government. Australia has moved from state based boards to one national board. The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. This boards is responsible for registering those in the profession.
If you are a qualified nurse or midwife wishing to work in Australia, you will need to apply for registration in the state or territory in which you wish to practice. If you wish to migrate to Australia as a registered nurse or midwife you will need to have your skills and qualifications assessed. This can be undertaken by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Please visit the registration board of any of the Australian state or territories for more information relating to practising nursing or midwifery in Australia.
